Counter Sales
All our stores have sales counters staffed by "Counter Sales" employees. Customers often come to our Sales Counters to order and pick up their merchandise rather than wait on a delivery truck. The Counter Sales positions mixes the physical requirements of the warehouse with the need for product application knowledge. Counter Sales employees help customers select the appropriate product, pick material from the warehouse, and load material for the customer. Successful warehouse employees are great candidates for Counter Sales positions because they have become familiar with the material we stock, where it is located, and customers with whom we do business. In many stores, Counter Sales employees also perform the job of Inside Sales.
Inside Sales
Inside Sales employees handle transactions over the phone when customers cannot wait for an Outside Sales person to call for routine orders. They can also relay technical information, give quotes, or place immediate orders over the phone for delivery or pick up.
