AP Claims Specialist

Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Accounts Payable team as an AP Claims Specialist. This role focuses on managing claims for missing and damaged material, working closely with vendors and freight carriers, to help our stores minimize financial loss through accurate documentation and consistent follow-up. The successful candidate will use various programs such as Airtable, Outlook, and Excel to track claims and collaborate closely with both vendors and freight carriers to ensure claims are filed and resolved within established terms.

- File and track claims for stores using Airtable, ensuring documentation is accurate and submitted within vendor or carrier terms

- Determine if needed replacements have been or will be sent, and ensure credits are properly made and accounted for

- File damage and lost claims with the appropriate freight carrier or vendor, and facilitate returns when applicable

- Monitor claims from filing through resolution and provide timely updates to stores

- Support stores working with vendors by assisting with their claim filing and tracking

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED equivalent

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and interpret data

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven follow-up ability

- Dependable and reliable, with strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

- Takes initiative and demonstrates sound judgment when solving problems or completing tasks
