Job Description:
Support warehouse operations by transporting materials over designated routes; ensuring safe operation of vehicles. Provide excellent customer service by making prompt and courteous deliveries of orders. Ensure that material loaded on the truck is as listed on the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest and is secured for safe transport from store to destination. Unload materials for customers at each delivery location in an orderly fashion while verifying that material is correct based on the Ship Ticket. Perform daily detailed inspection of vehicle to ensure general maintenance and safety of vehicle. Responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, shipping and preparing products for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion.
This is a safety-sensitive position, the ability to work in a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner is imperative. Candidates offered employment must undergo a pre-employment drug test. The test screens for drugs including amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, opiates, oxycodone, and phencyclidines, following the cutoff levels set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid Driver's License in state of residence with 3 years driving history. Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record with no type A violation; or no more than (1) type B violation in past (3) years. A Department of Transportation physical exam will be conducted by a licensed medical examiner. Read, comprehend, write, perform calculations, input accurately, reason, and analyze. Function independently, completing various tasks accurately with close attention to detail.
Physical Requirements: Frequent driving is required in all types of weather conditions. Must adhere to the proper safety regulations since there will be occasional exposure to events such as excessive noise and moving machinery. Frequently walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Regular handling of objects and lifting of up to 75 pounds. Physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle by the medical qualification standards in Sec. 391.41. A Department of Transportation physical exam will be conducted by a licensed medical examiner. The USDOT's Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulation, 49 CFR Part 40, at 40.151(e), does not authorize 'medical marijuana' under state law as a valid medical explanation for a transportation employee's positive drug test result
